Wondershare Filmora 13 reviewed: more upgrades and more power for editors

Wondershare’s Filmora 13 has piled on the AI toolsets and has a host of new features that now make it a potential professional editing option for the first time.

Developer Wondershare has launched Filmora 13, the latest edition of its editing platform. We had previously discussed Wondershare’s product in our round-up of AI editing platforms. However, Wondershare has upgraded its platform, adding various new features that promise to improve productivity and inspire creativity. So, let’s take a look at Filmora 13 and the new and improved editing capabilities it offers. 

To use the application, users must download Filmora 13 on their device. Wondershare provides support for Windows, MacOS, Android, and iPhone. The application itself is not storage intensive, measuring at around 1.16GB upon download. However, the majority of the stock assets, overlays, and templates must be downloaded, so this might increase the overall storage needed to run it. 

AI tools aren't particularly new to Wondershare Filmora. Previous versions, such as Filmora 11 or 12, included basic AI editing tools such as Auto Reframe, Motion Tracking, AI Copywriting, and Remove Video Background. The AI music generator is an automated system that creates royalty-free background music. Filmora 13’s solution eliminates the need to search and download soundtracks from third-party websites.

When generating their soundtrack, users can select the mood and duration they desire. They can also plug in how many results they want Filmora 13 to generate and only download the soundtracks they intend to use. 

AI Text-Based Editing

Text-based editing is a new addition to many editing platforms. It allows the users to transcribe their video and audio into a text-based format. It also has easy-to-use templates that can remove the guesswork for content creators who need to create a video quickly.
