A smaller point release for DaVinci Resolve than we have become used to of late, but still some valuable new bits and pieces and bug squashing.
NABShow is coming up and, while most manufacturers say they have decoupled themselves from the boom and but of the trade show cycle, there is still an echo of the old ways in the release schedule. Which is a long way of saying that what we’re really waiting for now is DaVinci Resolve 19. And, given that v18.6.6 has just hit the Blackmagic servers and has a fairly short list of new features, it looks like the Blackmagic dev team is now as well.
This software update adds support for AVC MXF Op Atom formats, improved alpha channel interpretation for QuickTime files and better media management of 8K X-OCN clips when trimming.
