Audio Design Desk 1.9 adds a ton of creative features

Audio Design Desk V1.9 is now available, adding a large number of highly useful features and functions.

We reviewed an earlier version of Audio Design Desk last year, and we were impressed at how fluid and easy it made sound design. Frankly, it's a piece of software that I think anybody remotely interested in sound design should have.

The software had undergone a number of updates since then, and now it has received another one, making the creative process even easier.

• Auto-Compose: Audio Design Desk can create a sound pass the moment you drag your video into the timeline. Markers from Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Avid and Frame.io are fully supported and can be converted into sound instantly.
• Variations: Automatically create any number of variations of combined sounds. For example you could combine footsteps with cloth movements or impacts and debris sounds to create an explosion and allow Variations to offer almost limitless alternatives.
• MIDI Triggers: Perform sounds and control functions in Audio Design Desk with a MIDI keyboard.
• Intelligent Import: Users of sound libraries like Splice, LoopCloud, Pro Sound Effects, Boom Library, and others can use Audio Design Desk or ADD Tags to automatically determine the right metadata and add them to sounds. Apparently the AI system improves the more you use it.
• DAW Integrations: ADD now integrates with Pro Tools, Logic, Live, Cubase, Digital Performer, Nuendo, and Reaper, acting as a plug-in within them.
• Spot Mode: ADD’s 40,000+ sounds and music cues can now be dragged into Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Avid, Screenflow and any other audio or video editing application.
• Stream Deck Integration: Find, place, loop, create, and mix from a new integration with Stream Deck. 
• Stacks: Stacks is a non-destructive way to stack any number of sounds into a single region that can be unstacked and changed at any time.

Audio Design Desk Lite

In addition to the improvements above, ADD has also announce Audio Design Desk Lite, which at $8.99 a month ($89.99 yearly) will be suitable for those who are on a budget and want to learn the ropes. The Lite plan still gives users access to over 40,000 sound effects, loops, and music cues, along with the unique sync and replacement tools that are found in the full fat version.

ADD Tags

Another new application is ADD Tags, which is a standalone app that is designed for metadata tagging of sounds. ADD Tags can apparently automatically generate metadata, add effects, create elements from stems, convert to delivery formats, and export them into an organised folder hierarchy for distribution.
