The Godox MG2400Bi is shipping now for just over $7500

The excellent-looking Godox MG2400BI, first announced at IBC last year, is now shipping.

Building upon the well-regarded  KNOWLED1200Bi, the Godox KNOWLED MG2400Bi bi-colour LED broadcast light was first unveiled in Amsterdam at IBC20223. Back then, we knew a lot, if not quite everything, about it, with one key detail missing: the price. That is now confirmed as $7590

So, what else do we now know? Featuring a highly robust, build-quality, with intuitive controls, and IP54 Weather Resistance, the MG2400Bi has a CRI of 96+ and a TLCI of 96+. It supports a wide range of professional control protocols, including DMX512 and LumenRadio CRMX, amongst others. It can also be controlled remotely using the Godox remote controllers, the Godox Light App, and the new Godox KNOWLED App using Bluetooth.

With an impressive 2900W input power and cutting-edge COB technology, it achieves a stable output of 2600W across all color temperatures and has an adjustable CCT range of 2700K to 6500K. Godox also says it matches traditional 4K PAR and 6K Fresnel lights when paired with the company’s optical accessories, even at distances exceeding 10 meters. It also significantly reduces power requirements in the same scene and effectively manages heat buildup, reducing LED temperatures for enhanced color accuracy and an extended lifespan.

It is equipped with an efficient and reliable air-cooling system; the company says this ensures exceptional airflow and pressure efficiency even in extreme conditions. A detachable fan design simplifies maintenance, providing a hassle-free experience.

To meet the demands of high-end productions, it features a separate light body and controller-box design, along with an 8-meter control cable. This enables users to mount the light high-up on a wind-up stand or truss system while the controls remain at ground level for easy access. The light body weighs 22kg, and the controller weighs 13kg.

The MG2400Bi uses the new Godox G-Mount, which features electrical contacts, allowing the light to recognize which modifier is connected to it. This enables the MG2400Bi to intelligently correct its color temperature depending on the accessory used, ensuring that the color temperature is consistent no matter what modifier is mounted.

There are a lot of these, too. Godox has established what it refers to as a comprehensive light shaping system based around the G-Mount, and the modifiers available include reflectors that run from 15° to 60°, projection attachments, lenses, soft boxes (lantern, octa, rectangular, and parabolic), barn doors, and more. There is also a choice of soft cases and a sturdy-looking flight case.
