Writing film music is a job that demands a wide range of talents - technical and artistic. And then you have to find an orchestra or session musicians to perform it. Well, the top-level productions will still use the real thing. But there's no reason any more why a low-budget production shouldn't sound great. Here's an example of why not
Native Instruments has just released the latest version of their KOMPLETE, software. If you're not familiar with this, it's a massive collection of samples, samplers and software synthesisers, as well as drum machines, all with an emphasis on realism, quality and playability.
New to Komplete 9 are the MONARK monosynth, designed to be warm and organic, and BATTERY 4, KOMPLETE's drum sampler with an intuitive interface and built-in processing and effects.
Also new is SESSION STRINGS, designed for modern, punchy arrangements, and THE GIANT, a massive upright piano.
An awful lot of sounds
All in all, there are 65 instruments and effects, with over 16,000 sounds and 370GB of content, which comes on a single USB hard drive for quick installation.
KOMPLETE 9 can be pre-ordered now and will be released on 27th March 2013.
KOMPLETE 9 has a suggested retail price of $559/€499 and KOMPLETE 9 ULTIMATE is $1099/€999.
