RØDE has introduced a new dual-channel audio interface, the AI-Micro, to enable content creators to record audio with a USB input to any device.
The AI-Micro has been designed so that users can connect up to two microphones for recording to any device with a USB input, such as a mobile phone or laptop. The device features two auto-sensing inputs that detect whether a TRS or TRRS mic has been connected automatically, as well as a high-powered headphone output for quality monitoring.
Any microphone that has a 3.5mm connector can be attached, and it can be used with RØDE's entire suite of recording apps.
RØDE says that the intention behind the AI-Micro was to take the core design of its SC6-L interface for the iPhone and iPad, but make it compatible with a wider variety of devices and applications.
The company claims that the Micro features high quality pre-amps that can record 24-bit/48kHz audio. Weighing only 20 grams the AI-Micro can seemingly be taken anywhere. it also comes with USB-A, USB-C and Lightning cables, so it can be used out of the box with any Android or Apple device without the need to purchase extras.
The AI-Micro is fully compatible with both the RØDE App Suite, including RØDE Connect, which allows up to four mics to be connected to a computer for podcast recording. The AI-Micro can also be configured on a mobile device or computer, allowing adjustment of input gain, headphone output level, switching between Merged, Split, and Stereo channel mode, as well as being able to engage a high-pass filter.
The AI-Micro is available now for $79. Find out more on the RØDE website.
