Pixotope (IBC stand: 6.A16) has unveiled its new Live Controller, an all-encompassing graphics control solution designed for broadcast virtual production workflows. Underpinned by Unreal Engine, the Pixotope Live Controller introduces reusable no-code templates and rundown-driven virtual production workflows in a single-user software package, streamlining virtual production for all broadcasters.
The elevator pitch is that it simplifies the process of synchronizing various graphics pipelines, including CG, AR, XR, and virtual sets, allowing any broadcast operation to seamlessly integrate virtual production into its programming.
At its heart, Live Controller enables operators to construct the entire graphics workflow using mix-and-match templates. This means any operator can control virtual studio, AR, XR graphics alongside CG elements with fewer resources. Templates serve as the foundation of what the many likes to refer to as democratized virtual production in broadcast settings, enabling broadcasters to capture the power of Unreal Engine within a workflow that is familiar to traditional broadcasters.
It seamlessly integrates with existing workflows and technology, allowing broadcasters to use templates to generate playlists for individual shows or even an entire channel's graphic workflow through a drag-and-drop motion in a centralized web-based dashboard. These templates can be conveniently stored in a database for reuse, enabling broadcasters to craft playlists for their programs. This encourages easy customization, as broadcasters can mix and match templates, overlay different elements, and achieve dynamic visuals without starting from scratch.
Additionally, Pixotope simplifies integration and support by not having the need to engage with multiple vendors, streamlining the licensing process, and ensuring a single point of contact, saving time and reducing complexity.
