News Roundup: New mounts for anamorphic lenses and a new wireless streaming device

It's been a busy few weeks, so here's some of the stories we couldn't fit in elsewhere!

MTF Services adds Canon RF, Panasonic L, and Sony FZ mounts to SIRUI Mars 1.33x anamorphic lenses

The SIRUI Mars 1.33x anamorphic lenses debuted just this past summer, and MTF Services has already released special converter kits to add new mounts, Canon RF, Panasonic L, and Sony FZ.

The new Mars lenses are essentially Cinema-style variants to the APS-C Stills version, giving a camera with a 16:9 sensor a 2.4:1 cinematic view. The current mounts include Canon EF-M, Nikon Z, Micro 4/3, and Sony E-Mount, but with MTF Services, the converter kit gives cinematographers even more options.

The SIRUI Mars 1.33x anamorphic lenses come in 24mm (T2.9), 35mm, 50mm, and 75mm (the latter three feature a T2 max aperture). They have a long focus throw and a 67mm front filter thread. 

You can buy the lenses with the converted mounts directly from MTF Services (they include the cost of the lens plus an extra charge for the new mount). Also, check out SIRUI's site to learn more about the Mars 1.33x anamorphic lenses. 

Z CAM IPMAN AMBR wireless streaming device for Android

Z CAM has announced a new Android wireless streaming device called the IPMAN AMBR, which runs on Android 10. It features a 5.5-inch touch screen display, two HDMI inputs, Ethernet, USB-C with PD, WiFi, and two 3.5mm jacks for a mic and headphones.

Priced at only $499 USD, the Z CAM IPMAN AMBR will stream up to 1080p60 in a customizable PIP footage from two inputs to many social networks, such as Facebook Live and YouTube (via a web browser).

CoreMelt's ModelX lets editors work with 3D models directly in Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro editors will now be able to work with 3D models directly in Apple's NLE with ModelX from CoreMelt. This toolkit works with both FCP and Motion, but there's no need to work inside Motion when you can load and manipulate 3D models right on your Final Cut timeline.

It supports USDZ, USDC, ojb, and STL files, and can be full manipulated, from pre-built cameras to lighting presets. The price is right at $99 USD, and saves roundtrip time by not needing to use Motion to work on these 3D models. It supports both the Apple Silicon and Intel processors, and is 4K ready.

FilmConvert is a must-have plugin for editors working with footage from specific cameras, such as those from ARRI, Canon, RED, and others, to ensure color accuracy. They've added a new Camera Pack for the Sony a1, which is major news for those filming and cutting with the popular Sony cameras.
