LomoChrome Color ’92 ISO 400 is a limited edition emulsion in 35mm, soon to be available in 120 and 110 formats.
We have an excellent and detailed article on cheap ways to shoot using colour film stocks coming from Josh Edwards next week, but in the meantime...
LomoChrome Color ’92 is a regular color negative film designed to capture everyday life with a hint of ’90s nostalgia. Featuring a powerful film grain, Lomography says it delivers a soft and mesmerizing look in the sun and brings a subtle, painterly look to photos taken at dusk. Vibrant reds and clean yellows pop out amongst fascinating blue tones, while delicate pastel undertones take everyday snaps to a new dimension. Which all sounds rather lovely.
It has been produced using what the company says is a unique color layering process and a one-of-a-kind color palette, "which works in harmony with the film’s rich grain structure for a burst of retro charm and classic analogue character." And, as ever with LomoChrome, no two productions can ever be the same due to the handcrafted process use din production. Luckily, it can be easily developed using standard C-41 processing.
It's going to be available in 35 mm, 120 and 110 (Lomography is the sole producer of 110 format film). For 35 mm and 120 shooters, this film’s large exposure latitude should make it great for experimentation, as photographers can push or pull the film to retain good information in shadows and highlights.
Price is £11.90 a roll from the Lomography shop.
