Blackmagic Design Web Presenter 4K unveiled

Blackmagic Design had a busy day last week announcing two new Studio cameras and the updates to HyperDeck studio. In addition, it revealed the Blackmagic Web Presenter 4K, bringing ultra HD to popular live streaming platforms.

Watching content such as news and entertainment programs online has continued to grow as people 'cut the cord' worldwide, along with Covid-19 in 2020. The Blackmagic Web Presenter 4K provides a hardware-based solution to stream via ethernet to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and other popular platforms.

Simply connect an SDI video source such as a camera or live production switcher (like the Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio HD or Mini Extreme), then output to the internet via Ethernet. It also supports mobile data, a computer supporting other streaming software, and other options.

This new device joins the Blackmagic Web Presenter HD, announced this past February, and an excellent solution for streaming everything from news to live gaming, and more.

The Web Presenter 4K supports 12G-SDI video sources (1 SDI video input; 1 loop out and 1 monitor out), along with USB-C (up to 2160p60), HDMI, and the aforementioned Ethernet. The other hardware features are an LCD display, control panel buttons, and a spin knob control.

Supported video include HD (720p50 up to 1080p60 and 60i) and 4K (up to 2160p60). The SDI support features are 12G, 6G, 3G, and 1.5G. There is also technical monitoring built into the device.

The new Blackmagic Web Presenter 4K will cost $695 USD, which is a real bargain when you consider not that long ago, similar devices cost over $1,000 to $2,000 USD. Get more information at Blackmagic's site.
